On July 31 and August 1, 2026, ACLIC held a two-day workshop focused on strengthening child rights monitoring and advocacy. On Day One, participants reviewed and refined the draft child rights monitoring checklist and received an overview of draft ACLIC policies and operational manuals. On Day Two, facilitated by Mr. Yinebeb of Save the Children, participants focused on developing evidence-based advocacy agendas. Working groups identified priority issues affecting vulnerable children in Addis Ababa, including access to education, healthcare, legal identity, child labor, disability inclusion, and gender-based violence (GBV) services. Using the Save the Children Advocacy Planning Toolkit, participants mapped decision-makers, developed targeted messages, and created actionable advocacy plans to influence policies, budgets, and services from the community to the national level.
